Social Media Anxiety - Apps for Entrepreneurs

Conquer Social Media Anxiety with these 5 Apps!

Brought to you by 217 PR

Social Media is the most powerful asset a creative has to build brand equity. Your success as a Creative Entrepreneur is dependent upon your online presence and the relationship you have with your audience. Whether or not you love social media, you need it. And if you were thinking about skipping on opening up that Instagram page, you may want to rethink it. Social media is not only the new business card, your social media network is your net worth.

Unlike the past, where you could hide behind your work, today’s Creative cannot survive without social media. If you’re serious about living off your creative endeavors, building your online presence is now the number one way to do it.

Why do you think so many celebrities are on Instagram and Snapchat? Or why so many popular actresses are now starting Youtube channels? Author’s like Jenna Moreci that are living off of passive income from their debut self-published novel? Independent songwriters touring the world? Or lastly, those beauty gurus earning six figures per sponsored video?

Social Media allows you to create your own opportunities.

Most of us understand this value, but like a lot of Creatives, if you don’t have general social phobia, you could have Social Media Anxiety.

Yes, it’s a real thing. No, you’re not alone. Yes, you can still build an empire…even with anxiety.

Now that you know you can’t just sweep social media under the rug, you will have no choice but to face your fears. The good thing about social media is that you don’t even have to spend that much time on it if you do it right.

Here are the apps to help you do so…

1. PLANOLY

Visual Planner and Scheduler for Instagram

When a friend first introduced me to Planoly (formerly Planogr.am), I turned it down immediately. If I already had an issue with overthinking my Instagram feed, wouldn’t Planoly only exacerbate that addiction? Of course I would be planning to the point of not being productive, right? Well, the opposite happened.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  1. The Discovery Page makes planning your posts an actual social adventure. While your browsing users and hashtags that fire your soul, you can come up with ideas and concepts for future posts.
  2. The Visual Planner makes you excited about posting! Knowing ahead of time what my feed would offer only made me want to create more content.
  3. The Teams feature allows you to essentially add people to manage your Instagram page using this visual planner. Genius!

2. IFTTT

If This Then That

If This Then That
is really so simple it’s a confusing. In brief, if something happens, then this will happen is the idea behind the app. While simple, this is an amazing app that saves you TONS of time by sharing the content across multiple platforms and apps for you through the use of “recipes”. Perfect for the anxious Entrepreneur that just wants to set it and forget it.

Want to know how I use it? Whenever I post a photo or video to Instagram, IFTTT automatically shares the video to Facebook and Twitter. This allows me to spend more time creating content, brand strategies and interacting with people online instead of sharing the same content over and over again.

3. HOOTSUITE

Schedule updates to Twitter and Facebook
Hootsuite-Review

HIGHLIGHTS:

  1. Bulk Messaging – Once a month, compile tweets together in a spreadsheet, upload them to Hootsuite, and voila, you don’t have to worry about tweeting for the rest of the month. Bulk messaging is an EXCELLENT way to stay active on social media, without having to be on social media. Again, I find with Bulk Messaging, I can spend more time on Twitter or Facebook, actually enjoying the platform and not worrying about what I’m going to Tweet that day.
  2. Auto-Scheduling – After posting a blog, the first thing most of us do is tweet about it. With Hootsuite’s Automation services, Hootsuite will tweet it for you, every time you post a new blog.
  3. Auto-Scheduling – After posting a blog, the first thing most of us do is tweet about it. With Hootsuite’s Automation services, Hootsuite will tweet it for you, every time you post a new blog.

NOTE: Although Hootsuite does allow scheduling for Instagram, it does not allow you to schedule video posts. Planoly will always be my #1 choice for Instagram scheduling.

  4. 4. TAILWIND (As Hootsuite Addon)

    Schedule Pinterest Posts
    tailwind

There is a lot of debate on which platform is better: Boardbooster or Tailwind. While I love Boardbooster on its own, Tailwind is a great add on for Hootsuite.

I love how easy and fast it is to select a Pin or any image on the internet for that matter, and click a little button that will automatically schedule your Pin for you based on optimal times your audience is most likely to like or repin your posts.

While Boardbooster is a clear winner for the more confident social media user, I recommend to those who have social media anxiety to start first with Tailwind since it can be used as an add on for Hootsuite, and the less apps the better when you’re just getting your toes wet.

As a Hootsuite add on, not only will you see your Scheduled Tweets and Facebook posts laid out, but also your Pinterest.

    5. BUZZ SUMO

Discover what content is Poppin’ and Plan Accordingly
    buzzsumo-logo

Buzz Sumo is a content creator’s gem for discovering what content is being shared the most across the internet.

With this platform, you can search any website and see what blog posts went “viral” and are trending across social media.

This is an excellent way to stay motivated on both your blog and your social media by discovering what content to create that could essentially attract more viewers and help build an audience faster.

    Hire Social Media Management

If all else fails…just hire a Social Media Manager

    PR-217-JSCONSULTS

If social media is just one of those things you can’t stick with, consider hiring Instagram Experts JS Consults or a Social Media Agency like 217 PR to manage your social media and help you build an audience.
